SIGN UP TO TELL THE EPA TO SUPPORT CLEANER GAS

FROM THE UNION OF CONCERNED SCIENTISTS

To Do: Clean up Gasoline & Tailpipes
Ask the EPA's new administrator to keep cleaner tailpipes and gasoline at the top of her list.
ACTION ALERT
Urge New EPA Administrator McCarthy to Make Cleaner Gasoline and Tailpipes a Top Priority
Dear Friend:

When Administrator Gina McCarthy was sworn in as new head of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) a few weeks ago, her inbox already had some urgent priorities. One of the most urgent on the list: cleaning up tailpipe emissions from our cars and sulfur from gasoline.

The cleaner gasoline and tailpipe standards (also known as Tier 3) will reduce air pollution, save lives, and create thousands of new jobs in an ailing economy. By lowering sulfur in the gasoline that goes into vehicles already on the road, the program will have an immediate positive impact. Standards for cleaner cars and gasoline are supported by a diverse group including automakers, consumer advocates, public health organizations, and state clean air officials.

Still, the oil industry is doing everything it can to delay these standards, and the new EPA administrator needs to hear that she has the support of the American public to move ahead.

This urgent opportunity to improve public health and secure cleaner air, while pushing back against powerful interests, should be one of the EPA's top priorities.

Send Administrator McCarthy a message today urging her to support cleaner gasoline and tailpipes.
Sincerely,
Rachel Cohen
