TORTURE PEOPLE, GET INSTANT U.S. CITIZENSHIP?

WOULD ILLEGALS WITH FAMILY IN U.S. MILITARY WHO TORTURE TERRORISTS
                                    BE GIVEN INSTANT CITIZENSHIP?

An article in the New York Times of  11/16/13 is entitled, “Immigrants That Are Closely
Tied To Military Get Reprieve.”   The report is that the Obama administration issue a new policy on Friday that will allow immigrants in the United States illegally who are close relatives of active military troops and veterans to stay and move toward becoming permanent residents.

The Times states that the decision was made  after three years of deliberation by the Department of Homeland Security.    Of course this shift in policy comes as  legislation granting some sort of legal status to millions of  illegal immigrants is stalled in the  House of Representatives by Speaker John Boehner.

So, evidently, immigration policy is now being determined by the Department of  Homeland Security.   It is somehow surprising that the War Department (aka Defense) didn’t make the recommendation but I don’t pretend to understand the inner workings of deep government National Security State’s apparatus  in das homeland.

Perhaps Homeland Security (in cooperation with the CIA?)  will recommend other policy change in the future.   For example,  if a non-citizen member of the U.S. military actually kills a foreign combatant abroad, then Immigration authorities might facilitate a quick path to citizenship for him for close relatives in the United States.    Or another possibility might be that if  a  U.S.  non-citizen in the U.S. military or veteran aids (has aided) in the torture of  suspected  terrorists in “black sites” he/she might be granted immediate U.S. citizenship and the same for close relatives.
