America’s Gun Epidemic Giving Birth to Bulletproof School Supply Industry (VIDEO)
posted by Omar Rivero Human Rights, Media, Politics
After the horrific Sandy Hook shooting, the most recent tragedy in a string of senseless gun massacres, the American people came together and agreed that it was time for much-needed gun safety reforms. Instead, the National Rifle Association (NRA) and their corporatist stooges in the Republican Party conspired and colluded to block even the most basic and common-sense reforms like closing the “gun show loophole” and mandating universal background checks for all gun purchases.
Now, America’s gun epidemic has gotten to the point where the American people are so terrified that they are turning to purchasing products in order to protect their children as the government has failed to do so. That’s right, Americans all around the country are turning to military grade bulletproof school supplies and accessories in order to give their children an extra sliver of protection in case disaster strikes and they become targets of gunfire.
Because of the NRA and the Republican Party’s obstructionism, the American people don’t even feel safe sending their own kids to school without military grade defenses, given how fast these items are selling in the market.
Does anyone believe that our founding fathers envisioned violent individuals with criminal/mental histories being able to buy semiautomatic handguns with banana clips at gun shows, driving to the nearest elementary school, and rapidly gunning down dozens of defenseless students without even needing to reload his weapon?
It is stories like these that make it clear that it is time for reasonable Americans to come together and pressure Republicans in Congress to do the right thing and work towards implementing bipartisan gun safety reforms.
