NAIROBI, Kenya — A Navy SEAL team targeted a senior leader of the Shabab militant group in a raid on his seaside villa in the Somali town of Baraawe on Saturday, American officials said, in response to a deadly attack on a Nairobi shopping mall.
In reporting this CNN said there were "Western interests involved." I suppose they're saying that Western countries, including GB and Norway are competing to get at Somali oil. One commentator said it was possible that al Shabab could pose a military threat to the U.S. on its own soil.
It's nothing new that CNN shills for multinational oil corporations but the claim that al Shabab is a threat to the U.S. itself needs considerable backing, since, on its face it is absurd.
