CAL CATHOLICS OFF THE HOOK FOR MOLESTING CHILDREN

DEPARTMENT OF SHIT FOR BRAINS
The Los Angeles Times reports today that Gov. Brown "rejects more time for abuse issues." The Governor vetoed a bill that would have given some childhood sex abuse victims more time to file lawsuits, "after a heated opposition campaign led by the Catholic Church that stretched from Capitol hallways to Los Angeles pews."
Assemblyman Roger Dickinson (D-Sacramento), in analyzing why a member of the assembly would vote for or against the bill, stated "Nobody believes that someone who has perpetrated abuse, especially against a child should escape accountability for that kind of behavior."
"But," he added, "Many of them were torn between that first sense and the second sense of belief in, and loyalty to an institution that they hold in high regard."
In other words, what Dickinson is saying, is that there was a conflict in member's minds between prosecuting the Roman Church for sexual abuse of children and letting it off the hook because high regard for the Roman Church which sexually abuses children.
Oh!, the pain of ambivalence.
