Time magazine reports that House Republican Marlin Stutzman, on speaking of the government shutdown caused by his party, said that Tea Party elements in the House GOP have made it clear that they will not budge on shutdown, until their demands are met. But when asked by the Washington Examiner what these demands are the Representative says he had no idea. But he said, "We're not going to be disrespected." He continued, "We have to get something out of this. And I don't even know what it is."
Re. Stutzman is probably a symbol of the mirror theory of government where representatives in democratic government should "mirror" (obviously, totally resemble) those who elected them. The part of Indiana that he represents as been described in American literature but needs an update. Sinclair Lewis, where are you not that we need you?
