A hilarious video from actress Amber Tamblyn and comedian David Cross started making the internet rounds this Thursday, poking fun at the GOP war on women.
The video starts out with Tamblyn visiting the doctor (played by Cross) for a routine check-up, thanks to the fact that she’s now covered by the Affordable Care Act. Cross is dismayed that the check-up is “unfortunately covered,” but nevertheless ensures her that conservatives are pushing hard to have the law repealed.
When Tamblyn inquires about birth control, Cross feigns an examination of her hand, then promptly refers to research from 1926 that confirms that women don’t have sex before marriage. When Tamblyn informs the good doctor that the birth control is for her menstrual cramps and not for sexual purposes, Cross then agrees to write her a prescription — for Viagra.
“What that will allow you to do is find a gentleman that will intercourse the cramps out of ya once you’re married. It’s a win, win,” he righteously explains.
Much to Tamblyn’s horror, she discovers that Cross actually isn’t a medical doctor — he’s an elected “gynaetician” with a degree from the Todd Akin Non-Technical College of Biological-ish Studies and Rhetoric.
