GET ONE AND VOTE
Gov. Rick Perry of Texas today explained how his states voter ID laws work. "A state handgun license qualifies, but a state university identification card does not. Of course military ID's qualify too," stated the GOP governor.
"There's been some criticism of this but you have to understand that there's a certain culture in our Longhorn State that our ID laws reflect, said Perry.
"We love and cherish our guns. They enable us to protect ourselves and to shoot harmless animals for fun. So, naturally, a Gun ID will be honored here," said Governor Perry.
"And of course our military, which has protected our freedom and promoted our values by invading foreign countries, can use their ID's."
"And as to students using their picture ID's we don't allow it. See, that's part of Texas culture too. We rank 49th in the nation in spending on education. But, what the hell, our colleges have some great football teams. Anyways, all the students - in high school or college- have to do is get theirselves a gun and they'll qualify for a Voter ID that Texas will recognize," said Perry.
