STOP FRACKING, TELL THEM TO FRACK OFF

Denton, Texas is where fracking was pioneered, and it recently became the first city in the state to ban the hazardous process in which toxic chemicals are blasted into underground rock formations to release oil and gas.But as soon as votes were tallied in favor of the fracking ban, the city was slapped with two lawsuits opposing the new rules.

One lawsuit was filed, unsurprisingly, by an oil and gas industry group. But the second lawsuit comes from the Texas General Land Office, a government body tasked with managing land in the public interest.

One thing is for certain: fracking is not in the public interest, and the citizens of Denton have made that clear. In Denton, flares burn off benzene––a known carcinogen––and other gases near playgrounds. Wells have exploded, spewing toxic fracking chemicals into neighborhoods. Ozone levels exceed standards for safety.

The incoming Texas Land Commissioner is none other than George P. Bush, nephew of former president George W. Bush. The Bush family is invested in the fracking industry, so George P. Bush has every reason to follow through with the lawsuit against Denton when he takes office.

That’s why we need to stand with Denton and make our voices heard. Join us in calling on the Texas General Land Office to stop interfering with the democratic process and drop its lawsuit against Denton!

“THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.” A phrase to praise the tiny percent of the population of the U.S. to fight in the struggle to spread love of freedom, democracy, the two parent heterosexual family,work, debt, fracking and endless consumption around the world. 

Conservative Definition of Patriotism

PATRIOTISM, n.  Love of the nation state.  Also, the elevation of martial virtues in a country to allow young men to prove their valor in unnecessary wars and thereby achieve heroic status by dying, being maimed, coming and/or returning to The Homeland with PTSD.  Veterans are able to further prove their courage by dealing with the vicissitudes of homelessness, drug addiction, and dealing with the Veteran's Administration (the VA).

CLASS WARFARE, n.  A term used by those whose religious values, initiative and industry have made them rich, which properly accuses the immoral, lazy poor of not accepting their proper place in our democratic capitalistic society where corporations control the government to the benefit of all.

Conservative Definition of Climate Change

CLIMATE CHANGE, n.  A condition on planet earth where, as temperature rises, the well-informed right-wing properly becomes increasingly militant in denying  the increase in global warming. Also, a state of affairs where the human race, as it should, puts current pleasure ahead of possible future catastrophe because such a disaster is only predicted by so-called scientists who are discredited by their belief in the theory of evolution.  Even if the prediction of the near extinction of humans is true, God will create a new Adam and Eve to preserve mankind.

Conservative Definition of Murder

MURDER, n.  The intentional taking of human life strongly condemned if committed if by individuals except for the proper and moral state execution of death row inmates.  Also, slaughter committed by armed forces (each and every one a hero) to protect U.S.  commercial interests as well as to promote freedom and democracy and access to mineral resources in foreign countries.
