PATRIOTISM, n. Love of the nation state. Also, the elevation of martial virtues in a country to allow
young men to prove their valor in unnecessary wars and thereby achieve heroic
status by dying, being maimed, coming and/or returning to The Homeland with
PTSD. Veterans are able to further prove their courage by dealing with the vicissitudes of homelessness, drug addiction, and dealing with the Veteran's Administration (the VA).
