WALL STREET JOURNAL WANTS DICTATOR FOR EGYPT

WALL STREET JOURNAL THINKS PINOCHET SHOULD BE LEADER OF EGYPT
Credit Wonkette for putting me on to this story.

From the Red Phoenix:  Under Pinochet, the Congress was formerly dissolved and rival political parties were banned. Military officers were appointed to the highest posts in the government and the private sector. A reign of terror followed his ascension to power—books were burned publicly and increasing numbers of people were taken to secret torture chambers. Tens of thousands were rounded up into the soccer stadium in Santiago to be tortured and executed.

FROM THE WALL STREET JOURNAL EDITORIAL SECTION, JULY 4, 2013  "Review:  After The Coup In Cairo":

Paraphrase because copyrighted:  Egyptians would be fortunate if the new generals ruling Egypt now would be like Chile's Augusto Pinochet who believed in the free enterprise system.

Of course, Pinochet was a moral monster.  But what the hell, he restored the "free enterprise" system to Chile.  The Wall Street Journal has no shame!
