FROM THINK PROGRESS

THE LUMPEN PROLETARIAT GOES AT IT AT WAL-MART!!  ..........I KNOW, I KNOW, I SHOULD HAVE EMPATHY FOR THESE VICTIMS OF THE OPPRESSIVE CAPITALIST SYSTEM AND IN MY BETTER MOMENTS I DO.  I KNOW THERE'S NO CLASS CONSCIOUSNESS TO STOP THEM FROM CROSSING THE PICKET LINES AND SIT-INS AT WAL-MARTS ACROSS AMERICA.  LIKE THE REST OF US, THEIR MINDS HAVE BEEN COLONIZED BY THE MASS MEDIA INTO BELIEVING THAT CONSUMERISM IS AMONG THE HIGHEST VALUES.  .......  AND THERE BUT FOR THE GRACE OF GOD GO I. ..............JUDGE NOT LEST YE BE JUDGED, ETC. ETC.   AS A CHRISTIAN (OF THE RADICAL SOCIALIST VARIETY) I'M SUPPOSED TO SEE THE CHRIST IN ALL HUMAN BEINGS.  I GUESS IT'S THE AESTHETICS  OF  THESE VIDEOS:   THE UGLINESS OF THESE PEOPLE MAKES ME BLIND TO WHO THEY REALLY ARE.

The Worst of Black Friday: Guns, Knives, and Brawls

By Igor Volsky, ThinkProgress

iant retailers kicked off the Black Friday sales early this year, with many stores staying open on Thanksgiving Day. Bill Simon, CEO of Wal-Mart's U.S. operations, told CNN that the stores attractedmore than 22 million shoppers on Thursday and reported few violent altercations. "By and large there were a few small incidents but we were really really pleased with how the event went last night," he said on CNN's New Day.
But across the country, shoppers confronted each other with knives and guns, fighting for merchandise both inside and outside the stores. Here is a sampling of the worst of Black Friday:
Shooting in Las Vegas. A shopper was shot on Thursday as he tried to carry the big television he had purchased home. "As the victim was walking through his complex he was approached by a suspect who fired warning shots which caused the victim to release the television," he said. "The suspect fired two more shots and the victim was struck in the leg," he said. "He was not seriously injured." [CNBC]
Fight over parking at a Walmart in CA. At least "three people got into a fight in the parking lot of a Walmart in Rialto, Calif., because shoppers were cutting in line, Sgt. Nicholas Borchard told NBC Southern California. Two people were taken into custody after the fight, he added."
A police officer shoots alleged shoplifter at Kohls in Chicago. "A police officer shot the driver of a car that was dragging another officer responding to a call of alleged shoplifting which came in around 10 p.m. CST. An officer chased a fleeing suspect to his car when "the car started to move as the officer was partially inside the car," Romeoville Police Chief Mark Turvey told NBC station WBCD. "The officer was dragged quite some distance." A backup officer then shot the driver of the car.
Guns and knives at Walmart in WV. A man "was slashed to the bone with a knife after threatening another man with a gun in an argument over a Walmart parking spot, Tazewell County Sheriff Brian Hieatt told NBC station WVVA. Both faced charges after the incident that happened at 6:30 p.m. EST, the station reported." [CNBC]
Fighting over televisions at a Walmart in NC. A couple dozen people crowded around TVs and began pushing each other. One man threw another man to the ground. [WPTV]
