That’s right, Americans who work full-time hours each and every day don’t make enough to afford rent payments, not even with the help of social welfare programs such as food stamps and Medicaid.
America’s homeless shelters have seen a spike in recent years since the financial crisis, a trend that has been exacerbated by the refusal of America’s largest multinational corporations to pay their employees a living wage.
