US HASN'T WON A WAR SINCE 1945 , WELL MAYBE GRENEDA

  WHY WE SHOULD GIVE OBAMA A BREAK ON THE POOR HEALTH CARE ROLLOUT
 
We should give Obama & company a break on the failed rollout of Obamacare.  After all, one has to put this in the context of just who America is and who the American people are.  In light of a sad history of incredible failures since World War II, why would anyone expect a smooth introduction of such a complicated program as Obamacare?  The problem, of course, is that it requires some sort of collective intelllgence to be manifested in America's leaders who mirror the electorate.

 This is a country that hasn't won a war since 1945.  Whether that's because of the ineptitude of the American military, of the civilian leadership, or a combination of both, doesn't really matter.  They're all Americans and, ergo, things are going to go wrong, badly wrong.

Or, consider the American "intelligence" community:  The CIA actually did not predict the downfall of the Soviet Union!  It told President Kennedy that the Bay of Pigs operation would work.  Depending on your sources, it thought that Iraq had WMD and/or allowed itself to get "rolled" by  George W. and his neo-con gang.  The CIA did not give Presidents timely warnings that the Soviets were putting nukes in Cuba, of the Shaw of Iran's ouster, Saddam's invasion of Kuwait, or the fall of the Berlin Wall.  Horribly,  the "intelligence" community could not connect the dots and prevent the tragedy of 9/11.

Unfortunately there are hundreds of examples of America's "intelligence" in action.  To mention just one, the U.S.' house is on fire and we stand idly, stupidly by and watch the building as it falls down in flames.   Our infrastructure is collapsing.  Tens of thousands of bridges are structurally deficient or functionally obsolete.  A third of the nation's highways are in terrible shape.  Massively leaking water and sewage system are creating health hazards and contaminating rivers and streams.

(In April, 2013 thousands of gallons of sewage were dumped into the Mississippi River at a St. Lewis treatment facility.  When asked by reporters about the impact on drinking water the plant manager said "Unfortunately, the Mississippi is a severely polluted waterway already....It's not really raising the risk level in any measurable fashion."  So, cheers!)

And what is America's response to this?  A continuing, dramatic decrease in public expenditures on infrastructure and billions and billions of dollars for wars it won't win anyway.

Why expect much of the government rollout of Obamacare or  any of its activities?  Come on, this is America!  Who did you think we were?
