State rep Tom Brower maliciously destroyed the possessions of homeless people in Waikiki with a sledgehammer. Urge the government to investigate this elected official for violence and destruction of property.

Hawaii State Representative Tom Brower has never been homeless. He's probably never known what it's like to barely scrape by, never knowing where your next meal is going to come from. So when he saw shopping carts that homeless people were using in Waikiki, he decided to "solve the problem" by destroying their possessions with a sledgehammer.

Hawaii has the highest rate of homelessness in the country. According to advocates, about 45 people out of every 10,000 residents are homeless. But Brower isn't solving any problems by destroying the few possessions that homeless people have. Instead, he's leaving them hopeless.

According to Mental Health America of Hawaii Executive Director Martha Grambs, "His message to the public is that it's okay to commit acts of violence against homeless people, against vulnerable people."

Brower's destruction is useless and mean-spirited. Please sign the petition to urge the Hawaiian government to investigate Brower and stop him from more misguided vigilante actions.
