Amidst all of the drama in the Oval Office surrounding such events as the terrible rollout of Obamacare and personally choosing drone targets, President Obama seeks to relax by watching his favorite TV shows.
By his own accounts the President is drawn to such shows as "Game of Thrones," "Boardwalk Empire," and "Breaking Bad." These are darkly rendered shows that seem to reflect, in a way, the tension and reality of the President's everyday life.
He has never missed an episode of Netflix's "House of Cards," which starkly depicts a totally dysfunctional, corrupt Washington. He also is working his way through a DVD box set of AMC's "Breaking Bad," the story of a drug-dealing high school teacher.
His most recent favorite is "Omaha Drone," story of a Predator drone operator who, from his station in Nebraska, targets the "bad guys" in Pakistan, almost always killing innocent civilians in America's illegal war there.
Another Obama fav is "NSA Control" where we follow the Director of National Intelligence who engages in deceit and lies to media and Congress in order to protect the agency's power to record the most intimate details of the lives of every American.
The show that the President most watches (Michelle says "he just craves it") is called "Hubris in Command." It is the story of an extraordinarily bright POTUS who, at bottom, doesn't really like people, hates the political process and won't "get his hands dirty" by engaging in rough and tumble of the political world.
Make Keith Shirey's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)
