THOUGHTS ON U.S. NOT LEAVING AFGHANISTAN

The double talk implicit in the negotiations with Karzai on our remaining presence in Afghanistan is outrageous.  We say that our combat operations will end by 2014, yet we have been negotiating for the right to have our remaining security forces conduct night raids after that date.  What!  Night raids are do not involve the likelihood of combat?  The public is suppose to buy that?  Hopefully Karzai and the tribal chiefs will never accept our remaining troops continuing to initiate military action.  And what of drone use?  We the people may want to curtail our overseas nation-building and endless military excursions in countries torn with internal conflict, our successes in such endeavors having been nil for decades, but our military and power-hungry politicians apparently just won't let go.
WHY U.S. WON'T LEAVE AFGHANISTAN
