The beaver loves to be carressed and petted.
CORVALLIS, Oregon - A feminist group based in Portland, Oregon has traveled to the Oregon State campus in an effort to get the university to change the name of its mascot.
Loretta Pattonelli, executive director with the group called Gals With A Damn Good Cause, stated to the news media that her organization feels that the NCAA team name Beavers is derogatory towards women.
She said that she knows that no one would like for the team to be named The Oregon State Wieners.
Ms. Pattonelli revealed that they have secured the legal services of well-known West Coast attorney Ginger Allred and they are prepared to take the matter to the courts if the university does not agree to change the name.
A spokesperson for Oregon State stated that back in 2001, a movement was made by a feminist group based in Salem, Oregon to change the name.
But they soon dropped their name change demand after they learned that thousands of university female students had signed a petition saying that they wanted the team to continue to be known as the Beavers.
In A Related Story. Jerry Mathers who starred in the 60s sit-com Leave It To Beaver, and who played the part of Theodore "Beaver" Cleaver, was asked what he thought about the Oregon State team name. He replied that he loves it and noted that he always liked being referred to as the Beaver.
Make Abel Rodriguez's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)
The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
