Conservatives like Russell Kirk, Bill Buckley and others have always focused on the limitations of the "common man." By nature he isn't very good -- he's, "nasty, brutish and short," wrote Edmund Burke. Therefore, we need a strong government to restrain him-------lot's of cops around...........for some, Big Brother. So, ordinary people are brutish, but they also have a kind of "rough stupidity." Left-wingers who have faith that the "intelligensia" or whatever they call them can bring about "class consciousness" have to deal with the reality of the paragraphs below.

"What are we to
make of a mainstream media, along with the American public that appears more
concerned about Kim Kardashian flaunting her post-baby body than about the Obama administration ordering a drone strike in Yemen that
killed 17 innocent civilians who were part of a wedding party?"
