A new song by Beyoncé that features a recording of the aftermath of the Challenger disaster has drawn ire from NASA.
The U.S. space agency issued a statement late Tuesday to complain that the tragedy “should never be trivialized.” The singer’s new song “XO,” from her latest self-titled album, includes the recorded words “major malfunction” used in reference to a failed relationship.
Seven crew members died on Jan. 28, 1986, when the doomed space shuttle broke apart 73 seconds after its launch.
